Nannup Ridge olives are grown in a cool climate on the granite ridges of the Blackwood River and surrounded on two sides by the Barrabup Forrest on a farm adjacent to the vineyards of Nannup Ridge Estate.
The first trees were planted in the early 2000’s when a total of 800 trees and 4 varieties were established. These are Frantoio, Mission, Leccino and Zeuss. The intitial planting has now been extended by a further 100 trees including Corotina and Kalamata.
Nannup Ridge Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a blend of the 4 original varieties and each year has a unique blend as the various trees exhibit their natural responses to the seasons. The grove is harvested and pressed by the renowned processor Olio Bello prior to bottling on the Estate.
This year’s pressing has produced a robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil that as a balanced flavour of pepper and fruit. This oil can be enjoyed as a dipping oil with bread or in all cooking where a quality olive oil is required.
